I have never bought a ebook from Kobo via wifi. Reading these free files is what I particularly want the Kobo for.
I am pretty sure, but cannot remember for sure, that I did this on the Linux machine with Calibre, not on the Mac. I think it WAS recognised on the Linux machine as I had three ePUB files on it (before clearing them off with resetting). I have changed wires, done a complete reset, turned it on and off a few times. I bought a Kobo Clara for about double the money of an Amazon Kindle although they are pretty much identical because a/ I did not want to encourage any further the megalomania of that monopolising company b/ I wanted to read open source ePUB file from Project Gutenberg etc.īut the Kobo has the widely discussed problem that it is not recognised through direct wire connection either to my Linux desktop or my Mac Mini.
